Trip to Budapest

We went to wonderful Budapest for 3 whole days several weeks before Christmas, starting on Friday 23rd, early in the morning. The trip was organized by Mirka Matíková and Tomáš Miko from ESN Košice along with other Slovak ESN sections under the leading of Ladislav Juščák from ESN UMB Banská Bystrica with cooperation of ESN Budapest (Zsófia Szepessy, Katona Géza, Gyongyvér Engloner ) which we could meet later and hang out with. Since Budapest is one of the biggest cities in Europe, we had a quite long to-do list full if our ambitious plans to fill up.

The first day we started with exploring famous Budapest Christmas markets and nearby streets, and soon we had the first common dinner with all Slovak ESN sections in a restaurant that was booked by ESN Budapest. Afterwards, local ESN-ers were so nice to make us even some quick free guide tour in the evening as a tasting sample for tomorrow day. The ones, who weren’t tired at night, could end up the day in some local disco clubs.

The second day was the most exhausting one for many of us. In the morning we met with the local ESN-ers that were so willing to show us the rest of Budapest – mainly Heroes Square, Parliament, surrounding of Budapest Castle and Danube. Boat trip and Ice bar was marked as a highlight of the day that we ended with a special party again organized by incredible ESN Budapest.

During the last day we were having most rest. For many attenders it was a day of free time. They could sleep till the noon or have one shopping spree, go to the local ZOO and even regenerate in some spa.
As the days were going, we always had so much fun and although some problems occurred and all of our plans weren’t filled according to our original expectations, we still tried to entertain Erasmus students with our spectacular sense of humour and flexability, and on the way back we were nicely appreciated by them in the train.
