Trip to Slovak Paradise

As Slovak paradise is a beautiful place, it is not enough to visit it only once a year. We decided to show the beauties of the Slovak Paradise as to the new Erasmus students and also to those who didn't have the opportunity to come during their first semester.
We were a group of more than 40 people, ready to hit the road and experience new adventure. Our trip started at the train station in Košice on 22nd May, where we took the train at 9:27 and we got off in Spišské Tomášovce.

It seemed to be a beautiful day. The Sun was shining, it wasn't too hot and we had a wonderful view of the High Tatras. Our first stop was Tomas view (Tomašovský výhľad). After taking plenty of pictures and a group picture it was time to move on because we still had a long way in front of us. We got down to Hornád Canyon and went along the river for several kilometers. It wasn't just an ordinary walk along the river, because some of us had to face our fear of heights as we were walking on metal foot bridges which were put into the rock and were placed above the river, sometimes pretty high.

On our way we had a small break on a beautiful meadow placed by the river. But the most interesting part of our hiking trip was ahead of us- Monastery Gorge (Kláštorná roklina). A Gorge with a small creek which we had to jump over or just try to find some stones to step on so we didn't step into the water. An hour of lying on the huge meadow at Kláštorisko with the view of the High Tatras a well earned prize after hours of walking. Some people bought a cold drink to cool themselves down and some just needed to take a nap to gain the energy for the way back which was much easier.

Our whole day was almost over when we took the train back at 19:02. We got to Košice safely and we enjoyed the comfort of our beds after a beautiful, but exhausting day. Big thanks to Rachel for organizing the trip! J
