Despite of the weather forecast, we decided to visit one of the most popular monuments of whole Slovakia. Spiš castle, unique UNESCO heritage of our country, welcomed us on Saturday (28.November.2017).

The journey from Košice started at the train station where a group of 13 tired friends met. We took the train to Poprad where we changed for a bus and then finally we got to Spišske Podhradie. We arrived soon after opening, so the advantage of early waking up was that we could enjoy the views alone.

After we came through towers and balconies with beautiful views of the countryside, our journey continued to the exhibition part where we could see the kitchen, bedrooms and the torture room with all the scary tools.

Hiking down from a hill was a way easier then up so we had enough time to visit Spišská kapitula (Spiš Chapter House) where we had lovely walk between chapels. The journey back home was quiet, but we were happy to see such a wonderful old place.
